The XV Master’s Degree in Audiovisual Translation: Localisation, Subtitling and Dubbing is a private master of the University of Cádiz organised by the Instituto Superior de Estudios Lingüísticos y Traducción (ISTRAD) and the Instituto de Lingüística Aplicada (ILA) at the University of Cádiz.
Among others, its main objectives are to offer university graduates detailed and specific training in translation techniques applied to subtitling, dubbing for films, subtitling for the hard-of-hearing, audio description and localization, both related to the translation stage itself and the use of the most important software applications.
This Master’s Degree offers two academic itineraries: one aimed at students who are interested in a professional profile and another one focused on research. The following modules are offered:

M7: Master’s Dissertation
The main goal of the Master’s Degree in Multimedia Translation of the UVIGO is to complete the training of students and professionals in Translation and other related fields in multimedia environments. It is oriented to the professional application of the acquired technical knowledge and, with an eminently practical approach, tries to cover the social demand. It also specializes graduates in the field included in the title.
The Master’s Degree in Dubbing, Translation and Subtitling of the European University of Madrid offers a comprehensive professional training throughout the process of adapting to the market of the audiovisual product. Its focus is to train students in the following skills and abilities:
Training in digital technology skills.
Design, creation of translation and subtitling.
Management of dubbing studios. Development of decision capacity.
Promotion of creativity and personal talent.
Development of projects common to the team of professionals with an active implementation.
The Master’s Degree in Translation and New Technologies: Translation of Software and Multimedia Products is an official, state-recognized Master’s Degree from the Menéndez Pelayo International University, verified by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation of Spain (Agencia Nacional de Evaluación de la Calidad y la Acreditación), ANECA, from the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport. This Master’s Degree is offered by the Menéndez Pelayo International University and ISTRAD (Instituto Superior de Estudios Lingüísticos and Traducción based in Seville). Its main objective is to offer university graduates detailed and specific training in the techniques used in localization, relating to both the translation stage itself and also to the use of the industry’s most important software.
This course pursues several objectives for a more solid incorporation into the professional translation market:
Localization of computer programs, video games and web pages;
Learning of assisted translation programs, audiovisual translation, management of translation projects, and management of formats and documents;
Processing of documents and Word, FrameMaker, InDesign formats among others;
Treatment of multimedia content;
Use of macros and quality control tools.
